Probably going to be stricter on water requirements for desert travel in future sessions, but I need to work on exactly how to implement that in a way that's easy for me. (Probably some relative of Brendan's hazard system but we'll see.)

  1. Joey Lindsey by "takes the place of an encounter on the chart" you mean that like once the result is "yes, encounter," in the spot where a monster would be there's "out of supplies?"  and you've got a binary "enough/not enough?" (or 'enough/hungry/starving')

right now i've got a table where the check is like "1. monster 2. tracks, etc. 3. a "locality" thing that i havent figured how to implement right 4 discover a thing in the hex 5. use resources 6. get lost" that assumes more abstract wilderness and i'm using hexes so i think it needs adaptation
