Joey Lindsey by "takes the place of an encounter on the chart" you mean that like once the result is "yes, encounter," in the spot where a monster would be there's "out of supplies?" and you've got a binary "enough/not enough?" (or 'enough/hungry/starving')
ReplyDeleteright now i've got a table where the check is like "1. monster 2. tracks, etc. 3. a "locality" thing that i havent figured how to implement right 4 discover a thing in the hex 5. use resources 6. get lost" that assumes more abstract wilderness and i'm using hexes so i think it needs adaptation
